A few days before New Year I went to a party at Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Centre (the Ukrainian Film Archive), there was a presentation of the recently rediscovered and restored Ukrainian Soviet avant-garde film An Unprecedented Campaign (Нечуваний похід) (1931).

Breathtaking live show by my favorite Ukrainian band. They have new flawless dresses; the hats stay the same of course 🙂 Tickets were already sold out a few weeks before the concert.
I went to a festival Oreli (Орелі) dedicated to Saint Nicholas’ Day. There were some lectures and workshops on Ukrainian traditions of celebrating winter holidays that interested me and a small yet nice folk art fair. I like it because craftsman from all over the country bring their crafts and folk art and sell it personally.
Right near Lybidska metro is one of my favorite Kyiv’s examples of soviet modernism – “Tarilka”. It translates as a “plate” and looks like a levitating UFO 🙂
