On Orthodox Epiphany, which is celebrated on January 19, there is a tradition to plunge into ice-cold water, it has become popular again in Kyiv after the fall of Soviet Union.
There was some snow on the beginning of the week, but everything dried away on a next day, and it feels like spring again.
I was so inspired by reconstructions of Kazimir Malevich’s lectures (I wrote about it in here). I bought a book called ‘Malevitch’ by Jean-Claude Marcadé at Rodovid publishing house. I love their books, they have an awesome office on 17, Khreschatyk street (on the top floor) with a beautiful view from the window.
Many places in Kyiv take Halloween decorating quite seriously 🙂 During Halloween I’ve been at Molodist IFF awards party and after party, so I caught the Halloween spirit on the day after.
So I sat down and thought about cool Kyiv things and products you can buy that would be great to bring back home either for one’s own memory, or as a gift for someone. My credibility is that I actually own almost all of the stuff that I recommend 🙂
